The innovative stamp-like motion process of our InnoPen™ Microneedling is efficacious and no downtime! It promotes stimulation of fibroblast and elastin (collagen) but without the stress of pain, unnecessary trauma, micro-tears, scraping, scratching of the skin that cause scarring, inflammation and lengthy downtime due to the dragging, circular, and gliding motions associated with the traditional or conventional ablative types of Microneedling pens.

What is Microneedling?

Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), the mechanical action of the pen allows the needles to puncture the skin at a 90-degree angle and create controlled injury at a specific depth. It stimulates the body’s natural healing process to generate the production of collagen.

Why InnoPen™ Microneedling?

InnoPen™ is a medical and FDA approved collagen induction therapy, resulting in vibrant, healthy, and youthful looking skin for those suffering from fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, melasma, and other skin conditions. InnoPen™ is a medical precision Microneedling tool with a dual spring-loaded disposable cartridge (InnoTip™) that uses an automated, vibrating stamp-like motion to cause micro-injuries to the skin. The gentle stimulation of fibroblast promotes natural induction of collagen and elastin, without the stress of pain and lengthy downtime associated with ablative treatments. Micro-channels, resulting from the needles piercing through the skin layers, aid in infusing therapeutic serums for greater and enhancement of overall efficacy. InnoPen™ is an ideal choice for the non-surgical and non-ablative treatment of various skin conditions.

At the heart of the InnoPen™, is its revolutionary patented disposable needle cartridge called the InnoTip™, it is a precisional apparatus designed with a patented Double-Protective Tip System that consists of an inner protective wall and outer safety covering. These protective layers allow 0% tolerance for error, granting perfect needle centering, precise spacing, and meticulous uniformity in the vertical lining of needles. The InnoTip™ helps to ensure the delivery of the safest method of Microneedling available today.

Unlike other Microneedling devices, InnoPen™ is a device that is done in less abrasive stamping application as opposed to the conventional microneedling pen done in a gliding or circular motion to minimize scraping, scratching, and prevent unnecessary trauma to the skin or other trauma that could cause scarring.

Inexpensive spa devices often have poor quality needles that are slightly angled or bent and can thus hurt your skin. Similarly, circular devices like dermal rollers don’t hit the skin at a straight 90-degree angle and can be injurious for this reason as well.

What can Microneedling treat?

Additional FAQs

Microneedling utilizes controlled injury to tap into the body’s natural healing process. The InnoPen™ Microneedling Treatment which is typically completed within an hour. Although it is minimally invasive a numbing cream is often applied to alleviate any potential pain or discomfort. The InnoPen™ lightly stamps the skin, allowing the needles to finely puncture the subdermal layer, at minimal injury to the epidermis. The procedures trick the skin to believe that it has been injured, each needle creates a channel that the body wants to fill in with new tissue, thereby triggering a repair response and the release of cytokines and other growth hormones that stimulate the production and remodeling of collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are structural proteins found within the demis layer of the skin. They create new tissue following an injury and provide the skin with the structural support and flexibility that characterizes beautiful, healthy, young skin. Clinical research finds that in addition to creating more collagen and elastin, Microneedling thickens the epidermis and creates new blood vessels to improve blood supply.

InnoTips – patented disposable needle cartridges, are sterilized with gamma radiation and sealed in a hermetic pouch and are guaranteed to be 100% contaminant-free.

InnoTip delivers safest method of treatment with innovative technology that eliminates the negative risks inherent in all automated Microneedling pens or devices with open tip needle cartridges. InnoTip is a precision apparatus designed with Double Protective Tip System that consists of an inner protective wall and the outer safety covering made of sterile, medical grade GE lexan polycarbonate resin. These protective layers allow 0% tolerance for error, requiring perfect centering, precise spacing and meticulous uniformaty in vertical lining of the needles.

The first ‘inner’ protective wall is built-in tightly around the needle housing that holds thirteen SUS 316 surgical stainless needles. It serves to prevent the needle housing from shaking and becoming off-centered due to flux of vibration caused by the device’s motor exerting power during the stamping motion. Common attribute of the needle housing found in all single-walled needle cartridge is that it is loosely suspended in between the wall. Hence lacking the support to hold it firmly to prevent from shaking or vibrating as the needles pierce through the skin layers in fast stamping motion. Consequently, it leads to slanted needle insertion which induces micro-tearing of skin’s inner layers and epidermal scratching.

The second ‘outer’ safety covering is unlike any of the open tip needle cartridges available in the market today. It is completely enclosed with only the thirteen passage-openings. All needles must pass through these tiny holes before they perforate the skin. The outer tip is designed to detect any deformity and/or misalignment of the needles. If the needle is bent or out of position, it will lock up and the InnoTip stops operating. This ensures accurate 90° vertical needle penetration with every stamping motion but more importantly, patient safety.

#1 – Deeper Doesn’t Equal Better

Medical needling is not indicative of the depth or length. Focus should be on the goal and based on the condition of “what” is being treated, who is being treated (considering their skin types, current skin condition, etc) and not the length of the needle. In reality, you don’t need a deep needle to induce the wound response that creates more collagen. Using a needle depth of 0.5mm is deep enough to penetrate the dermis and reap all of the benefits Microneedling has to offer. Thorough analysis is needed as there are always exceptions to the rule. Too much and too aggressive can cause complications such as scarring. Slow and steady wins the race. Microneedling is not a simple facial, you can ruin the face with it easily.

As of 2021, NYS Law now requires an official certification from an accredited school to perform Microneedling (needling over .3mm). Bloody face techniques are illegal and outside the scope of practice for an esthetician unless there is a MD in house and operating under their MD license.

# 2 – Thinking You’ll See Instant Results

The Microneedling process helps create tiny micro-injuries in an attempt to trigger a healing response from the skin. Only once your skin heals from these wounds and has had time to stimulate the extra collagen and have some cell turnover, will you then see the full benefit from your treatment. This means results usually aren’t visible until four to six weeks after your Microneedling treatment. How much response you see per treatment is not predictable as we are all unique and the skin will be different every visit. If you expect instant results, you may be disappointed, Microneedling may not be for you.

Although Microneedling sounds scary (numbers of needles going into your face!), it is actually quite painless. We use lidocaine numbing cream on your face to keep you completely comfortable, and you are wide awake during the procedure. The experience feels similar to a deep facial with a bit of extra vibration. At the end of the procedure, your face will be slightly red and tingly, as the growth factors serums are absorbed into your skin. There is minimal to no downtime so you will be able to return to work right after.

You need to be gentle on your skin and let your skin chill after Microneedling. For the rest of the day (next 24 hours), don’t wash the skin, expose it to high heat, sweat too much (that means no sun, no gym, no hot yoga). Instead, follow post treatment instruction and load up on clinical grade skin-loving products that were specifically suggested to you

Improved skin appearance begins to occur almost immediately and continues for 4 to 6 weeks. For best results, Microneedling can be repeated as frequently as every 4 weeks, or as infrequently as 2-3 times a year, depending on your concerns.

Results varies, depending on what is being treated and the individual, as the healing process triggered by the production of new collagen and elastin begins to take effect. It may take a full month to see full results from one treatment for most condition with the exception of depressed or indented scarring. Depending on the type and severity of the skin condition being treated, minimum 3 thru 6 treatments are usually required to realize maximum long-lasting results.

Other factors that can affect you from achieving optimal results…

  • Not following post-care and skincare routine/home regimen that has been specifically laid out for you.
  • Bad lifestyle or unhealthy eating.
  •  Frequency. You will need to come continuously once a month or as advised by your technician/practitioner, especially when treating acne depressions (ice pick, boxcar, rolling scars).
  • Other health issues (e.g. PCOS, we suggest to check with your Dr for any hormonal imbalance issues).

From Microneedling alone, you will look plump, pink, and luminous for a couple of weeks. On a short-term basis, it plumps the skin and makes the skin look more radiant from inflammation and very superficial swelling. However, because the efficacy of Microneedling comes from the skin healing itself, some people may only see intense results after a few sessions. But Microneedling also promises improvement over time. According to a 2008 study, skin treated with four Microneedling sessions spaced one month apart, produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing treatment.

Microneedling follows the same principle of other cosmetic treatments that utilize controlled injury to stimulate the body to create more collagen to fill in the depressed areas created by acne scarring. Microneedling is a popular treatment for treating acne scars and other types of scars because it carries less risk of side effects, hyperpigmentation, and longer recovery times than other non-invasive acne scar treatments.

More than any other reason, Microneedling is a popular acne scar treatment because it works! One clinical study evaluating the effect of this treatment on acne scars reported that 94% of all participants achieved a reduction in the severity of their scarring by one or two grades and that nearly 89% of participants achieved excellent or good responses to the Microneedling treatment.

Frequent Microneedling can lead to broken capillaries and predispose skin to a plastic look if you over abuse it with repeated Microneedle insults. Instead, curb dependency by sticking to a once-a-month plan and always allowing full recovery between sessions.
